Due to its size and geographic diversity, the state of Bahia is worth a single trip. The Reĉoncavo Baiano region was the first major hub for sugarcane production and the concentration of enslaved Africans, whose influence has deeply shaped the local culture. Indeed, Bahian gastronomy, considered one of the richest and most distinctive in Brazil, is heavily influenced by African traditions. In the heart of the state, the Chapada Diamantina National Park is a true ecological paradise, an ideal destination for those who love trekking and adventure in close contact with nature.
