| Pantanal Brasiliano |
The Pantanal is considered the world’s largest tropical wetland and is shared between the states of Mato Grosso do Sul (80%) and Mato Grosso (20%). During the rainy season, the Paraguay River and its tributaries overflow, flooding the entire region and creating the ideal habitat for countless animal species. For this reason, it is the ultimate destination for photography safaris.
In the Fazendas of Mato Grosso do Sul – authentic Brazilian ranches – you can experience the traditions of the Pantaneira culture. Influenced by neighbouring Bolivia, this culture is deeply rooted in the region’s main activity: cattle ranching. Nearby, Bonito and the Serra da Bodoquena serve as major ecotourism hubs, offering visitors a true immersion into nature.
In the Northern Pantanal (Mato Grosso), specifically in Porto Jofre, “jaguar boat” tours are organised along the Cuiabá River. Between June and October, the riverbanks host the world’s highest concentration of jaguars.
