| The Amazon |

Brazil is home to the largest portion of the Amazon Rainforest in South America, and Manaus, the capital of the state of Amazonas, has always been considered its primary gateway. The rainforest and the Amazon River, along with its numerous tributaries, form a breathtaking ecosystem known as the planet’s most vital lungs.

The travel experience is lived either by staying in lodges deep within the forest or by navigating on traditional riverboats (barcos regionais). Both options offer a series of activities in close contact with nature, including opportunities to interact with local Caboclo communities (traditional riverine people of indigenous descent).

Most of our itineraries take place along the two major tributaries, the Rio Negro and the Rio Tapajós, reaching Alter do Chão, famous for its heavenly river beaches. Following the course of the Amazon River, you reach the state of Pará, where the river meets the ocean and where Ilha de Marajó – the world’s largest fluvial island – is located.
